Gov. Wike Calls Amaechi A Failure, Says He Is Not Welcome In Aso Rock | SEE VIDEO

Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, has said that Rotimi Amaechi was a complete failure in his role as minister of transportation and that he contributed nothing to his state.

He also made fun of Amaechi, claiming that when the senior statesman was sick, Amaechi did nothing and the late Alabo Tonye Graham-Douglas, a four-time minister, was not given a state funeral by the Rivers State government.

Wike said this On Monday during his speech at the opening of a newly built, ultra-modern seven-story office complex in Port Harcourt.

He claimed that even the Rail Line, which Amaechi oversaw in other regions of the nation, never reached the former Minister’s state throughout his seven years in office.

He said, “Tell Rivers State people. As a former Minister of Transportation, what did you do for your people for seven good years?

“This should be the last time that you (Amaechi) will talk about this state because you are a total failure as far as this state is concerned. A total failure. Even what is supposed to come to us, you blocked it but we didn’t bother.

“You think you will not finish as a minister, you have left. I hear he can’t even enter Villa now. All those periods you intimidated police people, and army people are over.

“You use to tell them, ‘The President is angry with you. Now, go and tell them,” Wike said as he commissioned a remodelled former RivBank Building in Port Harcourt, the state capital.

“Don’t distract us again or else I will say more things,” Wike further warned the former minister.

This came up after Amaechi had on Saturday taken a swipe at Wike at the funeral of a traditional ruler, Alabo Graham-Douglas, in the Akuku Toru Local Government Area of the state.

The former minister had slammed Wike, who wasn’t present at the funeral, adding that he believed the state would take accountability for everything involving the Kalabari chief and acknowledge him.

Amaechi retorted that Wike had stated on Monday that he had declined to attend the burial because it had become politicized. The governor continued by explaining how, while the traditional king was still alive, he built the roads leading to his home and palace.
