On Sunday, American Rapper, Kanye West said he considered Wizkid’s hit song Essence as the best song in music’s history.
The superstar posted the track cover on his Instagram page with the caption, “Best song in the history of music to date”.
Recall that Essence was declared the official summer track of 2021, and it topped the billboard chart with its remix featuring Justin Beiber.
The song also received numerous nominations at different award ceremonies including the Grammys. It won the BET Award for Best Collaboration.
The track has been certified Gold by RIAA for selling over 500,000 copies in the US.
Though many fans seem to agree with Kanye, however, Mike Mesikenor thinks otherwise. He said,
“Kanye West didn’t even say Essence is the Best Afrobeat song which it is not, he said the best music ever…. like, It doesn’t even make any sense.
“I am sure he is using this to sub someone. Going about saying it’s the best music of all time…He even said that he is addicted to pornography… He has so many issues.” he added.
In other posts, Kanye also shared his favourite songs which included Beyoncé’s ‘Church Girl’, which he claimed to be his favourite song off her latest “Renaissance” album.
He also tagged Dj Khaled ft Rick Ross’ “God did” as the song of the year. Anthony Jeselnik’s “Thought and prayers”, was also declared one of his favourites.
