Legendary Nigerian Disc Jockey, DJ Jimmy Jatt has to come out to share that he had a successful kidney transplant right here in Nigeria.
The veteran DJ and music executive who managed to keep his condition private revealed that he had the surgery exactly six months ago after he was diagnosed with kidney disease and had been undergoing dialysis.
Sharing a documentary video on his Instagram page of his surgery day and post-surgery periods, DJ Jimmy Jatt wrote, “My father used the difference between cars & humans to teach me a lesson in humility.
If you broke cars down, you would find a difference in horsepower, a number of plugs & exhausts, gear systems etc. but dissecting any two humans would reveal the same 206 bones, 1 heart, 2 kidneys, 1 skull etc.
So pomposity makes no sense & that has been my creed all my life. We are all the same. But this experience has reinforced that we all share the frailty of life in common. No one is promised tomorrow.”
“A very successful kidney transplant (exactly 6 months today) has deepened my appreciation for life’s most important things & gratitude to God.”
Jimmy Jatt also used the opportunity to express his gratitude to the management and staff of the hospital for the most professional execution of the surgery, stating that the warmth and reassurance of the entire team were immeasurable.
He continued, “I cannot imagine pulling through this without my angels. My wife, my daughters, I love you beyond any words to say. And to my siblings, where do I begin to thank you?
My friends for a fantastic support system. To anyone battling kidney disease, this is not the end and to all donors & caregivers. Keep staying God sent. To fans and business partners, DJ Jimmy Jatt has never been cooler! Hop on, the ride continues.”
If you would recall, a few weeks ago, we reported that veteran rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem also underwent a successful kidney transplant.
