The sexual assault claims against American Singer Trey Songz have taken a different twist as a woman is now claiming that an attorney for the singer’s alleged victim offered her up to two hundred thousand dollars to change her story in order to tarnish Trey Songz’s image.
If you would recall, a woman identified as Jauhara Jeffries had filed a lawsuit alleging that Trey Songz violated her at a 2017 New Year’s Eve party in Miami.
Now according to transcripts obtained by TMZ, a woman named Mariah Thielen testified that she met with Jauhara’s attorney Ariel Mitchell in April of 2021 in Miami at a bar.
Mariah, who was with Jauhara the night of the alleged incident in 2017, claims that Ariel offered to pay her one hundred thousand dollars to two hundred thousand dollars if she lied and said that she saw Trey sexually assault Jauhara, as well as saying that the singer assaulted her too.
She also claimed that Mitchell allegedly said she was trying to paint Trey as “the next R. Kelly.”
Mariah further explained that Ariel’s plan was to take the allegations to the singers’ team with hopes of negotiating a financial settlement.
The woman in question, Mariah Thielen claims she turned the offer down, saying she wouldn’t have lied for even ten million dollars. She thereafter reported the meeting with Ariel to Trey’s legal team.
Reacting to the allegation, the alleged victim’s lawyer Ariel Mitchell has denied the claims saying, “We’re highly confident and certain the court will find the witness committed perjury.
Parties are still awaiting the judges’ further instructions on how to proceed given the witness’s inconsistent testimony during the hearing.”
