Parenting refers to the intricacies of raising a child and not exclusively for a biological relationship.

As a new dad, how can you deal with pressure?

Sharing his experience as a dad, Ajao said, “my wife had to take a break for like two weeks when had a baby because we were practically arguing about everything.

Everything was getting to her, she wasn’t having it, I just got a new job, and I was dealing with pressure from work and all that. It was kind of understandable how things went that way.

If you do not prepare your mind, because there are expectations from people, the social expectations, your family, your wife and the newborn baby and then having to deal with work, finance everything on your head.

If you do not know how to manage these things, it could put some pressure on you.

Do you think society is at fault for bad parenting?

Nobody prepares a man, even for marriage no body prepares the man for fatherhood.

If you buy a new book about parenthood you will find out that the entire chapters in the book are about the baby and the mother. No one talks about the father.

The father is just supposed to get in and learn in the job and that’s why most times a lot of men don’t know how to actually balance things up, they don’t know how to support.

I know some friends who after having their newborn disappeared from home for a while on the account that they needed to be on a business trip.

My friend disappears from home for three weeks and there are quite a lot of people like that. If you sample opinions you will find out that a lot of people disappear from home because they couldn’t deal with the pressure.

How do you then deal with it?

By managing and putting yourself first. It is difficult to put yourself when you have a newborn and you can lose yourself.

If you lose yourself then you are not going to be able to balance things up for your family, wife and work.
