French professional footballer, Paul Labile Pogba shares that a gang that includes his brother is attempting to blackmail him for €13 million.
Paul Pogba Claims He Is Subject Of €13 Million Blackmail Plot From Gang Involving His Brother
Pogba reportedly told authorities that his brother, Mathias was a member of a gang that attempted to extort money, according to France Info.
According to reports, he described being threatened by two hooded men brandishing assault guns in a Paris residence and being told to turn up €13 million in cash.
Despite the fact that Pogba admitted to helping them financially in his conversation with the police, this is the case.
He did go on to say, nevertheless, that he broke relations with them after learning that one person had stolen €200,000 using his credit card.
In a statement on Sunday, Pogba said: “The recent declarations of Mathias Pogba on social media are unfortunately not a surprise. They are coming after threats and attempts of extortion by an organised gang against Paul Pogba.”
“This has been referred to the appropriate authorities both in Italy and in France a month ago.”
Here is what Mathias said in the video that has since picked up over 1.2 million views on Twitter.
“The French, English, Italian and Spanish public, in other words, the whole world, as well as my brother’s fans, and even more so the French team and Juventus, my brother’s team-mates and his sponsors deserve to know certain things,” he said.
“In order to make an informed decision if he deserves the admiration, respect and love of the public.
“If he deserves his place in the French team and the honour of playing in the World Cup. If he deserves to be a starter at Juventus.
“If he is a trustworthy person, that any player deserves to have at his side.”
“I will tell you very important things about him and there will be elements and many testimonies to confirm my words.”
Nevertheless, hours after Mathias Pogba released the video on social media, Paul Pogba’s camp since released a statement.
“Mathias Pogba’s recent statements on social media are unfortunately not a surprise,” it read via French publication Jeanmarcmorandini. “They come on top of threats and organized gang extortion attempts against Paul Pogba.”
