American rapper ASAP Rocky has officially been charged with felony assault for an alleged shooting in Hollywood, where he’s accused of firing multiple shots at a former ASAP Mob member, ASAP Relli.
Asap Rocky Charged With Assault Over 2021 Shooting
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney, George Gascón, his office has charged the rapper with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm for the November 2021 shooting.
He said, “Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offence that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood.
My office conducted a thorough review of the evidence in this case and determined that the addition of a special firearm allegation was warranted.”
Just so you know ASAP Rocky was arrested in April and charged with assault with a deadly weapon over the November 2021 shooting.
Authorities said an argument between two acquaintances escalated and resulted in the suspect firing a handgun at the victim. Following the shooting, the suspect and two additional males fled the scene on foot.
ASAP Rocky was later identified as the suspect who allegedly fired two shots in ASAP Relli’s direction. Relli has said that he was hit with bullet fragments and suffered injuries as a result of the shooting.
If you would recall in 2019, ASAP Rocky found himself in legal trouble when he was arrested and jailed in Sweden for a month for his involvement in a street fight with alleged drug addicts.
The rapper and Rihanna who started dating officially in 2020 welcomed their first child together in May.
