Vice President Yemi Osinbajo opted to have his thigh surgical procedure done in Nigeria because of nationalistic considerations, Presidency sources said last night.
At the weekend, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity in the Office of the Vice President, Mr. Laolu Akande, announced that Professor Osinbajo had been scheduled for a surgical procedure.
Another statement, on Saturday night further informed that the operation had been successful.
It added that the Vice President would be on admission to the hospital for some days.
But sources close to the Vice President revealed last night that he opted to have the leg surgery in Nigeria because of his confidence in the nation’s medical sector growth and the need to reverse medical tourism.
