Who Is A GenZ?

Generation Z, colloquially known as zoomers, is the demographic cohort succeeding Millennials and preceding Generation Alpha.

Researchers and popular media use the mid to late 1990s as starting birth years and the 2010s as ending birth years. Most members of Generation Z are children of Generation X.

Anyone born between 1981 and 1996 (ages 23 to 38 in 2019) is considered a Millennial, and anyone born from 1997 onward is part of a new generation.

Ittyokim claims he is more than experienced to talk about GenZ relationships because it’s his reality right now and he can’t talk about marriages and Millennial relationships because he has no experience.

“I am a GenZ, and I feel like it’s beyond experience, it’s more of sharing stories that are real to me. He added”

How do you help people navigate the relationships there are in?

Honestly, the whole idea of even starting this in the first place came from how I and my co-host Tosin always have our peers come around to ask us questions concerning relationships for some reason.

It didn’t make sense to us because we were their age mate, some of them were even older and people had always said that I and Tosin could do something together.

I was like, should we write a book because I am a writer and she’s also sort of a writer and I was like, let’s do a TV show like ‘Wake Up Nigeria’ but it wasn’t working so we decided to do a podcast.

Do you have any support and mentorship?

Baegist is produced by a company called ‘Verse5’, Verse5 is a production company. The Idea of Baegist came from the owner of Verse5.

How do you focus when it comes to a relationship as a GenZ?

It’s different from GenZ because I mean, for other generations where the relationship is probably something that they have the idea of getting married to their partner, it’s different with GenZ because nowadays you don’t get to see a lot of people who have that mindset of going into a relationship, they just want to have a good time, it’s like an experiment.

We are really young, and there are so many years ahead of us. I just feel like, maybe it’s the media, we should just enjoy ourselves right now. It is a wrong mentality to go into a relationship with the mindset that it will lead to marriage.

When you go into a relationship without having a long-term one in mind there are symptoms of that illness so at Baegist we try to fix those symptoms and let you know you’re doing the wrong thing in the first place.

How do you do it? what do you tell them?

It’s real to me as well because I am a GenZ person so I know the struggles, I am not in a relationship myself and probably never been in one.

It’s very weird but I am aware of what the challenges could be so i and my cohost try to fix that problem for you.

Is there a reason why GenZ doesn’t date one person for long?

The media over the years, let me say, the world is sick and people just really want to have a good time.

People are willing to pay any price just to feel happy and one of those is relationships. So if they find someone who gives them temporary happiness they are just cool with that and you know that relationships are a lot of hard work and this generation doesn’t want hard work so it’s like, let’s do it till when we are tired and let’s just rest.
