Bridgerton Season 3 has brought on three new cast members as production on the next installment of the Netflix period drama gets underway.
Bridgerton is an American historical-romance streaming television series based on Julia Quinn’s collection of novels. Created by Chris Van Dusen, the series is Shondaland’s first scripted show for Netflix.
It revolves around the eponymous Bridgerton family and is set in the competitive world of Regency era London’s ton during the social season where marriageable youth of nobility and gentry are launched into society.
Bridgerton‘s second season became the most watched English-language television series on Netflix at the time with 656.16 million hours in its first 28 days of release
According to multiple media platforms, the new season (3) is set to follow the love story between Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, which is being filmed in London.
On the series official Instagram page, an adorable BTS video was shared with the caption, “Spy the makings of a new social season.
By the looks of things, it would seem the third installment of Bridgerton is officially underway.”
Daniel Francis, Sam Phillips, and James Phoon have all signed on for the new season. Francis will play Marcus Debling, a charismatic gentleman and member of the ton.
Phillips will play Lord Debling, while Phoon will play a character known as Dankworth.
Still produced by Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland, season three’s plot centering on Penelope and Colin marks a change in the order of Julia Quinn’s novel series.
Their love story is not until the fourth series as book three focuses on Benedict Bridgerton.
