Terry G has finally addressed the comparisons people have made between him and controversial street artiste, Portable.
Portable who came to the limelight with “Zazoo Zeh” in 2021 has been in the news multiples times for his behaviour and various controversies.
Portable’s behaviour has made music fans compare him on several occasions with Terry, stating that he is the upgrade of the Akpako master.
During an interview with PUNCH NG, Terry G was asked how he felt being compared to the Zazoo crooner.
Terry G in response revealed he actually loves Portable and that their comparison was a good thing for him.
According to him, because he stated the ‘crazy genre’ doesn’t mean another artist cannot be inspired by it and still be unique.
Describing Portable as unique, he stated that they don’t have any similarities musically and intellectually.
He also stated that being a controversial artist didn’t start with him and won’t stop with Portable as many guys from the streets have always been entangled with controversies.
“It is a good thing. I love Portable so much. Despite the fact that I did the ‘crazy genre’ of music, it does not mean that somebody else cannot be inspired and still unique. He is quite unique. There is nothing he has that can be compared to mine, musically and intellectually. I feel nobody should shut him out. He cannot be stopped.
If he stops talking, what else will happen? That is his style. It (controversies) did not just start from me. It started with different guys that represented the streets, and it will still continue. It is normal.”

When asked if he would collaborate with Portable, he said;
“Yes. He has been to my house twice. But, we could not record our song that day because he had to be at a show in Akure, Ondo State. I am interested in working with anybody that represents the streets. I am a producer and singer.”
