In the official teaser for Marvel Studios’ “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”, we listen to a beautiful rendition of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry” performed by Nigerian music star Tems.
The song plays until halfway through the trailer, where the part “Everything’s gonna be alright” plays with Kendrick Lamar’s “We gon’ be alright” before the latter continues till the end of the trailer.
Tems came into the limelight after participating in WizKid’s 2020 hit song “Essence,” which became the first Nigerian song ever to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.
The song later received a Grammy nomination for their work together. She later joined the major label RCA and issued two critically acclaimed EPs, “If Orange Was A Place” in 2021 and “For Broken Ears” in 2020.
In November 2022, the most recent episode of Marvel’s Black Panther will be released and deals with the departure of the title character, T’Challa, the late Chadwick Boseman, who unfortunately passed away from colon cancer in August 2020 at the age of 43.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will focus on Queen Ramonda’s “battle to preserve their country from interfering international powers in the wake of King T’Challa’s death,” according to a statement from Marvel.
