“That the people in the communities would rather trust in the bandits to protect them or not attack them than to trust in the structure of our government to protect them and people will constantly look for different ways to protect themselves.

“They have reported them before but they still come into their community and attack them.

“You know how you have an agreement with the devil, hoping that because of this agreement, as long as the devil is at peace, he will be happy.

“We are happy that the government has stepped in. Apart from just creating a committee, my question is, if there is a known bandits, how is he still walking around and being awarded and his other bandits are there at the event?”

Yeni Kuti said, ” My own problem with this issue is, it was a ceremony one, the Local Government Chairman was at the event, he made a speech at the event, they were police officers at the event, because you can’t have that kind of event without one or two police officers around.

“The terrorists did not come with any gun. They were so sure of their safety. “They came in with motorbikes, 100 of them, they rolled into the community and watch the ceremony.

“You see when people say, government officials know about this kind of thing, local government chairman is also part and parcel of the Government. Emir was put by government”.
