Few weeks before her passing, Veteran Nollywood actress, Ada Ameh spoke with the ladies of #YourView about her mental health issues and how she felt when her daughter passed away.
The actress revealed that she suffered max depression even before her daughter’s death, but it worsened after she lost her child.
“I had depression, max depression. I’ve been depressed for some years, and it worsened when I lost my daughter in 2020. We practically grew up together. She was like my younger sister,” Ameh had said.
She also noted that she had lost seven of her family members before losing her daughter.
“I had lost three sisters before that time, and each had three children. I’ve lost three of my brothers and my father. So after mourning all these people, and then (I lost) my daughter,” the actress said.
She said, “When my daughter died, my world crumbled before me, and sometimes, I see myself crying for days.”
The actress, known for her role as Emu in Africa Magic family drama, The Johnsons, died on Sunday night.
The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, confirmed the news on Monday morning.
“We lost Ada. No details at the moment, but we’ve lost Ada,” Rollas said
The news of the actress’s death shocked fans and colleagues and was made public on Monday.

Reacting to her demise, Yeni Ketu said, “I was shocked when i read it. I couldn’t reconcile the person i saw and the Ada that was on her show.
“She seems so full of life, she was full of prayers, she even did a video with of the makeup girls.
“I am just honoured to had met her. I have never met her before so i just thank God that i met her that day” she added
