Games of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has come out to reveal the level of damage the two brain aneurysms she suffered has caused her.
In an interview with BBC One’s Sunday Morning, she gave her fans an update regarding the status of her health.
She said,
“The amount of my brain that is no longer usable, it’s remarkable that I am able to speak, sometimes articulately, and live my life completely normally with absolutely no repercussion.
“I am in the really, really, really small minority of people that can survive that.”
“I can do a two and a half hour play every single night and not forget a line. I always had a good memory because it is the only skill as an actor, so your memory is obviously incredibly important and I consistently tested that.”
She also commented on her brain scans, saying,
“There’s quite a bit missing! Which always makes me laugh. Because strokes, basically, as soon as any part of your brain doesn’t get blood for a second, it’s gone.
“And so the blood finds a different route to get around but then whatever bit it’s missing is therefore gone.”
Just so you know, a brain aneurysm is a weak spot in the wall of a blood vessel inside the brain that can sometimes burst and causes a hemorrhage.
If you would recall Emilia Clarke first aneurysm burst in 2011 during the filming of Game of Thrones which caused a stroke, while the second aneurysm happened in 2013, where she had to undergo surgeries after scans showed that it had doubled in size.
Emilia Clarke who played ‘Mother of Dragons’ Daenerys Targaryen HBO series, Game of Thrones first opened up about the trauma of her ordeal in 2019.
