Nollywood Actress, Ada Ameh is dead.
The actress, known for her role as Emu in Africa Magic family drama, ‘The Johnsons’ died on Sunday night at a Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) hospital in Delta State, according to Actors Guild of Nigeria President, Emeka Rollas.
“We lost Ada. No details at the moment, but we’ve lost Ada,” Rollas told said in a statement.
The actress reportedly passed away on Sunday night at around 11 p.m. in Warri, Delta State.
According to reports, Ada fell unconscious while visiting an oil business employee and his family in the Delta city at the time of her death.
Recall a few weeks ago in an interview with the Ladies of ‘Your View’, the actress disclosed her struggles with mental health.
She revealed she had ‘max depression’ and it became worst when she lost her daughter.
“Everything will work out just fine. My life is currently being threatened by a problem I have. I won’t pass away. We’ll go past it, Ameh had promised.
The actress claimed that although she was given a job, she was unable to complete it due of mental health concerns.
The 48-year-old actress also disclosed that she became pregnant with her daughter when she was just 14 and it had occurred as a result of early sex exposure from peers.
Despite having given birth young, the actress lost her 30-year-old daughter Aladi Godgift in October 2020 and 7 other family members. Three brothers, Three sisters and her father.
Ada Ameh revealed that after her younger sister died, she thought she would be next not until her daughter died and her world crumbled before her and sometimes she would see herself crying for days.
Ameh’s daughter, Aladi had passed away in Abuja following a failed surgery, and the actress last year paid a visit to her daughter’s grave to commemorate the deceased’s one-year passing.
Ameh, became famous following the role of she played (Anita) in the movie ‘Domitilla’ in 1996, and was more recently adorned for her comic characters especially in the series, The Johnsons.
Born on May 15, 1974 in Ajegunle, Lagos, the last video the actress shared on a Instagram page was of her eating with the family around 12:53pm on Sunday.
