Amber Heard may have lost the high-profile lawsuit against her ex-husband Johnny Depp, but she remains keen and consistent in her attempts to share her side of the story.
After being ordered to pay Johnny Depp over eight million dollars in damages following their high-profile defamation trial, Amber Heard is reportedly writing a tell-all book detailing her account of events about her relationship with ex-husband Johnny Depp.
A report from Radar suggested that the prospect of a book has caused a “frenzy in the publishing world” with negotiations reportedly in the region of $15 million
Even though the existence of such a book has not been proved, such rumors have prompted further criticism of the actress who is already under fire.
Heard and Depp engaged in a six-week legal battle in April over her 2018 op-ed in The Washington Post, in which she claimed to have survived domestic abuse. Depp had sued her for $50 million.
Following a trial of brutal testimonies and social media frenzies, the jury awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages, after finding Heard’s claim to be false and defamatory.
Regardless of whether the rumors about a potential book on the trial are real or not, Heard’s detractors are capitalizing on them to further attack her for possibly making money from the book.
“What kind of publisher would be stupid enough to go into business with someone who has just been found to be defamatory?” asked TikTok creator Jahan Kalantar in a video that’s clocked up almost 50,000 views.
