Christian Bale is open to slipping into his caped crusader costume again on the condition that the studio in charge of the franchise meets his needs.
He made this known during the promotional campaign for ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ when he was asked what it would take to have him reprise his role of Bruce Wayne and Batman.
He replied saying,
“No one’s ever mentioned it to me. No one’s brought it up. Occasionally people say to me, ‘Oh, I hear you were approached and offered all this.’ And I’m like, ‘That’s news to me. No one’s ever said that.”
Christian Bale explained that he and the director Chris Nolan made a pact before making their blockbuster trilogy.
He said, “I had a pact with Chris Nolan. We said, ‘Hey, look. Let’s make three films, if we’re lucky enough to get to do that. And then let’s walk away. Let’s not linger too long.’
“In my mind, it would be something if Chris Nolan ever said to himself, ‘You know what, I’ve got another story to tell.’ And if he wished to tell that story with me, I’d be in.”
Just so you know, Christian Bale starred in Chris Nolan’s directed trilogy from 2005 to 2012, where he played the superhero Batman in ‘Batman Begins’ in 2005, ‘The Dark Knight’ in 2008, and ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ in 2012.
Christian Bale is however keeping himself busy with a completely different comic book character.
He’s currently starring in ‘Thor: Love and Thunder,’ the fourth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s ‘Thor’ franchise, where he plays the villain, Gorr the god Butcher, which is scheduled to open in theaters next month.
