The music industry seems to be in good hands with the new generation of artists doing impressive things every day.
Five, six years from now, the artists that will probably have the Industry on chokehold will be the young guys like Fireboy, Victony, and Oxlade.
The three guys (plus some other people, of course) represent a new phase of Afrobeats that is even more melodious than what we have currently. They have all been tested and they’ve passed the test. They’re as good as it gets really.
Fireboy, who stands out as the biggest achiever among the three, debuted in 2019 and followed up with another album in 2020. Since then, he’s done a couple of features and released the monster hit, “Peru.” His new single, “Playboy” is doing well.
Victony, another bright kid with promise, debuted with an EP in 2020 and has since become the go-to artist if you want some good hook for your song. Ask Savage or Mayorkun.
Oxlade, who has also had a good run of features, has worked with the likes of Ice Prince, Sarkodie, Juls, and Fireboy. He’s a gold mine and his last project was a beauty too. “Ojuju” was definitely an anthem last year.
The three of these guys combined a song. Well, that’s going to be something, to say the least. Not only are they all vocalists with powerful, but they’re also in their primes.
All of them can do a good verse and also come up with a good chorus. Fireboy has done it on “Running,” Victony has done it on “Holy Father,” and Oxlade has done it on “Kolo.”
So with the three linking up and a potential collabo on the way, who do you think should take the hook if they do a song together?
Victony, Fireboy, Or Oxlade?
Let’s hear what you think.
