The cat is finally out of the bag after speculations that all was not well in the relationship between Colombian singer Shakira and her footballer partner, Gerard Pique.
Rumours of the pair’s split began to circulate early last week, with reports in Spain claiming the Barcelona man had strayed.
Shakira has confirmed their separation in a statement via her publicist – although she made no reference to Pique’s alleged cheating.
She explained:
“Guys, I’m getting a lot of messages of concern that I was seen in an ambulance in Barcelona recently.
“I just wanted to let you know that those photos are from last weekend (the 28th), when my dad unfortunately had a bad fall and I accompanied him in an ambulance to the hospital where he is recovering now.”
“Please do send all your best wishes his way and thank you all as always for all of your love & support.” she added
Shakira’s communication agency released a statement that reads,
“We regret to confirm that we are parting ways. For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect their privacy. Thank you for your understanding.”
All of this is coming after various reports stated that the Barcelona football club defender was allegedly caught in bed with another woman.
