Jonzing World’s amazing singer, Ruger, surfaced in 2020 and delivered one of the most iconic debuts we’ve ever seen.
In his first year, he put out a song that became the soundtrack of 2020, “Bounce” and he hasn’t slowed down since. Until any of your nominees can provide a song as big as “Bounce,” they shouldn’t win the Next Rated award over Ruger. That would be underserved.
It happened last year. Omah Lay came in, just like Ruger, with an EP, he had the number one song in the country. That was all he needed to win the Next Rated, and he won!
Ruger has replicated the same the whole of last year, in which he (just like Omah Lay) released two EP’s and a number one song. Buju hasn’t done that. Lojay hasn’t done that. Ruger has.
I see no reason why this year’s Next Rated award shouldn’t go to Ruger. He has done everything a new artist needs to do and he has done it much better than his peers. That is A1!
Some people might wanna make an argument for Ayra Starr. That’s okay. But remember she has an album and shouldn’t even be in this category in the first place!
Buju is just another overrated singer who has only performed on other people’s songs. All of his solo singles are mostly unimpressive. His EP wasn’t exactly the success anyone would’ve expected it to be. So why should he win over Ruger?
Then there’s Zinoleesky. The Marlian Records artist has an impressive track record but I’m afraid is discog is just not stacked enough.
That leaves D’Prince’s boy as the rightful winner of the Next Rated award this year.
