American reality star, Kim Kardashian seems to be in a twist, as she has been accused of damaging Marilyn Monroe’s iconic gown which she borrowed and wore to the 2022 Met Gala.
In an Instagram post made by The Marilyn Monroe Collection, with a before and after photo of noticeable changes on the dress, Kim was called out, along with ‘Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’! Museum who loaned her the dress, for the alleged damage, claiming the dress was not returned in the same manner it was given.
If you would recall, during the Met Gala, Kim talked about how she had to lose sixteen pounds to fit into the famous cloth.
She said, “I tried it on and it didn’t fit me, I said, ‘Give me three weeks.’ I had to lose sixteen pounds down today.” Kardashian told a Vogue.
In order to fit into the dress, Kardashian said she wore a sauna suit twice a day, ran on the treadmill, and “completely cut out all sugar and all carbs,” Vogue reported.
“I didn’t starve myself, but I was so strict,” she said in the interview.
The mother of four later changed into a replica after walking the red carpet to protect the sixty-year-old gown, but concerns were already raised about a potential damage to an iconic piece of history.
Just so you know, the late Marilyn Monroe wore the crystal-studded gown to sing happy birthday to the then US President John F. Kennedy in 1962.
