With “Don’t Call Me” And “Vanilla Bottega” – Is This The Lil Kesh’s Comeback We’ve Been Waiting For, Or He Can Never Be As Hot As He Was Again?

Keshinro Ololade, known professionally as Lil Kesh, is a Nigerian singer, rapper, and songwriter who rose to the limelight after releasing the hit single “Shoki”.

Lil Kesh released “Lyrically”, a debut single that went viral and introduced him as the new rap prince in town.

Lil Kesh signed a contract with “YBNL” founded by Olamide Adedeji in 2012. Under this label, Kesh dropped a series of hit singles like ShokiEfejoku, and Gbese to name a few, and released his debut studio album, “YAGI”.

When Lil Kesh dropped Shoki in 2014, the song was everywhere, and “Shoki Dance” also reigned with the song. Shoki topped many charts and in 2015 Lil Kesh was nominated for the next rated award at the Headies.

Though he ended up not winning the award which many believed he was cheated by the organizers and the event caused a dispute in the industry that year.

In 2016, after the expiration of his contract with YBNL, Lil Kesh established his record label YAGI Records (an acronym for “Young And Getting It”) and managed by Massive Management team.

On the 17th of March 2016. Lil Kesh released, his debut studio album Young And Getting It (Y.A.G.I) through YBNL Nation was produced by Young John, and Pheelz. Vocals were from Phyno, Ycee, Wale, Patoranking, Adekunle Gold, Davido,Viktoh, Olamide, and Chinko Ekun It incorporates hip hop and rap genre.

It has four singles – Lyrically (2014), Efejoku (2015), Is it because I love You (2015), and Ibile (2016).

After the album, Lil kesh fell off, he wasn’t hot again, at some point he stopped dropping songs and the fans were asking what happened to Lil Kesh?

Though he tried to pick up by dropping some songs like “Flenjor”“All The Way“, “Too Sweet“, and more but it wasn’t just hitting like his previous songs.

Late last year he dropped “Don’t Call Me“, the song in which he featured Zinoleesky“Don’t Call Me” received a wide acceptance and fans talked about the Kesh they used to know. Zinoleesky brought life to the song with his melodious voice.

Lil Kesh is out again with another song titled “Vanilla Bottega” featuring Joeboy. The song has much potential to be another hit song just like “Don’t Call Me”.

It seems Lil Kesh is not stopping anytime soon!!
