Following an attack on one of LAWMA’s personnel, the Managing Director, Lagos Waste Management Authority, Ibrahim Odumboni joins us in the studio to talk about the incident and the plans of the agency to stop future occurrences.
Recall on Wednesday, May 3rd, police arrested a man identified as Alao Idris for attacking personnel of the State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) at Isolo road , Isolo area of the state.
The incident happened in the early hours of yesterday, when the personnel was going about his lawful duty of sweeping the street. The highway worker (sweeper) was attacked by Idris with a hammer, resulting to a broken skull.
The victim was rushed to hospital for intensive medical care.
Confirming the development, Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni, said such actions were meant to disrupt the authority’s ongoing efforts to establish a cleaner and healthier environment in the state.
Mr Odumboni also revealed that they ensure the safety of their staff and are doing everything they can do ensure a clean and effective waste disposal.
