Nigerian author, Abimbola Olayinka, says parenting means re-parenting ourselves so we can be in full position of parenting our children.
Abimbola is a mother of two beautiful girls and she sheared that for her style of parenting, she adopted authoritative style of parenting which is parenting with self-awareness and empathy.

she said, “It is clear that parent actually think parenting is ‘parenting your child not knowing that it’s about reparenting ourselves so we can be fully positioned to parent the child in front of us’.

“So it is important for daddy to be available because parenting is not actually gender sensitive.
“Daddy have a roll and child care is the role of the mother and the father and not the mother alone.
“In this part of the world we feel mothers should take care of the children while fathers should do the provision, no it’s a two way straight.
