Congratulatory messages are pouring in for Nigerian singer Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W after he clinched his party’s ticket in the primary election.
Banky won the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest for the House of Representatives, Eti-Osa Federal Constituency seat in the 2023 elections.
In a now viral, the votes of the primaries were counted and closely monitored by the delegates and members of the party.
The clip captured moment Mr Wellington’s twenty-eight votes put him on top of the list of other contenders from the opposition aspirants that are jostling for the same ticket.
Sharing the big news, he wrote;
“We must engage with Nigeria where it is, not where we prefer for it to be. In 2019, we planted the seed.
“In 2023, by the grace of God, and with your support, we will win the seat. The time for just talking is over.
It’s time to #TalkAndDo. I hope I can count on you. We move,” he tweeted at that time”.
