According to Tobi, procrastination is delaying on what you’re suppose to do that you know would change your life.
Procrastination according to wikipedia, is the action of unnecessarily and voluntarily delaying or postponing something despite knowing that there will be negative consequences for doing so.
We procrastinate on tasks we find not interesting or just boring. If a task feels especially overwhelming or provokes significant anxiety, it’s often easiest to avoid it.
“It’s strange that our human behaviour seems to prefer pleasure to things that would change our lives so basically we are naturally wired to do what we enjoyed ad not what will change our lives.” Tobi said
So many times if what will change our live is not what we enjoyed we tend to procrastinate.
Steps to stop Procrastination
- Fuel your motivation: tells yourself the truth on what you need to do and set your goals.
- Take actions: Start with the most important things to keep you going and act on it immediately because one of thing about procrastination is ‘you keep telling yourself later’ later is not a set time nor date.
- Be bold and work on your self esteem
- Set goals
- Commit to the task.
- Promise yourself a reward.
- Ask someone to check up on you.
- Rephrase your internal dialog.
