Oniyide Azeez, better known by his stage name Zinoleesky, is a Nigerian musician.
His meteoric climb to fame is a model for other aspiring artists to follow. Before that, it should be noted that his ability to deliver sounds in various Afrobeat styles and patterns is what distinguishes him.
Zinoleesky’s rhymes are slick, clear, and concise, indicating that he has always had talent.
Some may not be aware, however, that Zino’s journey to prominence was not an easy one. He stated in his song “Gone Far, “
“I left the posts on my Instagram so you can know where i was coming from. There was no method or diagram”
The lines above implied that he had no idea where he was going, but he kept posting freestyles on Instagram and tagging artists he thought would enjoy his music. Zino began his career as an Instagram freestyler before becoming well-known throughout Nigeria and beyond.
The day Zino’s luck would shine was the day Kizz Daniel followed him on Instagram as a result of his rap video. Following that, many record label executives decide to sign him. Davido offered him a contract with DMW, but he declined. In December 2019, Naira Marley signed him to Marlian Music. Along with Mohbad, CBlack, and Fabian Blu, he was signed. On December 31st, 2019, the four performers performed at the Marlian Fest at the Eko Hotel and Suites.
The Agege lad is now a serial hitman who makes enough money to support himself. This is a lesson and motivation for other upcoming artists to learn how to carve out a unique sound for themselves and promote themselves via social media.
