Nollywood actor,Efa Iwara finally reveals name of girlfriend as he talks about his new movie, and relationship life.
Efa Iwara started out his career in the entertainment industry as a musician in 2006 in a group called X-Factor with DJ Clem, Bolaji, Jide and Boye. He released his first single and 5 track EP called Waka EP in 2011 and his last official single was titled “Fall in Love” featuring Plantashun Boiz in 2014.
He made his acting debut in a 2011 episode of Tinsel as a debate moderator. His next appearance was in the first season of MTV Shuga Naija in 2013 and since then, he has being making wonders in the movie industry.
In his interview with the hosts of ‘Wake Up Nigeria’ on TVC, Ifa revealed that they were times he had being on sets he didnt feel comfortable with but it’s being a while.
How Would You Say Your Projection Has Taken You? Would You say it’s fulfilling?
I think, a lot of people see the lover boy but i also know that i am not like that. We have to know that the Nigeria Film industry has a very long pace.
Remember that that if you take top five actors through time basically you will think of, Ramsey Noah, Jim Iyke etc They’ve been ‘lover boys’ because i think love and drama is closer to heart and easier to make as apposed to action or maybe horror.
Is it fulfilling? yes because for me it is nice to see new ways to express love, unintentional love, it could be rumour has it which is negative psychopathic love but different forms of love.
How did you get into that space of making movies in different forms and characters?
The thing with me is boredom. Boredom is a tool. Boredom is how i got into music, acting and now as a director.
My new movie ‘ Joseph’ is co-directed by myself and my friend. We were just talking and i was like let’s shoot a film. I have stories in my head and i said let’s shoot this one and that was it.
Tells us about Your New Movie ‘ Joseph’
Joseph is addressing the military PTSD because when we think PTSD we think American Films, when you think ‘Punisher’ you think Rambo. The idea came to me while i was thinking, we always have this fiction between civilians and Soldiers, like they’re too aggressive and i was wondering, like, nobody is born this way.
What happened to these military men? Is it the camp or the Training? and then it occurred to me that these guys go to war, come back and they don’t have psych evaluations. They’re just thrown right back into the society.
Joseph is almost based on a true life story but fiction was added to it.
Joseph is a short film and it’s going to be available this week or next week.
