It’s no longer a breaking in news that the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi Olayiwola, has passed on.
The First Class monarch died at the age of 83, after 52 years on the throne of his forebears. He was the longest serving Alaafin of Oyo.
In his lifetime, Alaafin married several wives, many of whom are still very young, in their 20s. Undoubtedly, the Alaafin is one Nigerian monarch who has a harem of young pretty queens.
The young queens (we can’t specify the number), all light skinned, are fashionable and very social media savvy.
However, the Yoruba tradition does not view Alaafin as a mere mortal, he’s more like a deity, therefore, the tradition forbids the wives of deceased Kings, especially Kings of the class of Alaafin, from marrying another husband.
And therefore, one have to ask what the fate of the Young and Street wise Queens of Alaafin will be.
What Do You Think Will Happen To The Wife Of The Alaafin? Will they remarry? Can they remarry
