If the federal government fails to halt the continuous reign of terror in their territory, the northwest states of Kaduna, Katsina, Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto, and neighboring Niger may resort to recruiting mercenaries.
Mallam Nasir El-Rufa’i, the governor of Kaduna State, who delivered the threat, also stated that the deadly attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train last Tuesday, which killed eight people, might have been averted if the federal government had followed his prior warnings.
