American actor Will Smith rendered a tearful apology to the Academy at the 2022 Oscars after he snagged his first Academy Award.
During the award ceremony, the King Richard star walked onstage and slapped Chris Rock for making a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith while presenting the award for Best Documentary and shortly after, he was announced as the night’s Best Actor winner.
