Ile-Ife residents resumed their protest outside the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) gate in Ile-Ife yesterday, preventing free movement in and out of the university.
Since Thursday, March 17, 2022, the organization has been protesting the university’s refusal to nominate an Ile-Ife native as Vice Chancellor.
Disgruntled locals were said to have urged commercial drivers and motorcyclists not to operate in the area. Some demonstrators threatened to keep marching until the Vice Chancellor was announced to be a member of the community.
