The Headies, Nigeria’s much-anticipated music awards show, will take place in the United States of America on Saturday, July 2, 2022.
A statement by the organisers disclosed that the award, would hold at the Cobbs Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta.
The show’s creator, Ayo Animashaun, stated this during The Headies Big Announcement event, at a ‘Big Announcement’ ceremony held at the Eko Hotels in Lagos.
“The 15th Headies will be held at the prestigious Cobbs Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, U.S.A. The official theme of the 15th Headies is ‘Join the Movement’,” the statement said.
A new category including talent managers and Africa Award, grand showcase of African fashion, and the Headies conference and music festival was also announced.
The categories of the award include:

- Album of the Year
- African Artiste Recognition
- Special Recognition Award
- Music Executive of the Year
- Song of the Year
- Rookie of the Year
- Next Rated
