To celebrate Valentine’s day, American actor, artiste, and television host Nick Cannon has dropped a new single titled ‘Alone,’ a song which many people think it’s an ode to his ex-wife, Mariah Carey since it samples Mariah’s 1990 hit Love Takes Time.
Not only does the song sample his ex-wife’s music, but Nick, reportedly said in a press release that Alone is an ‘ode’ to Mariah and ‘describes’ Nick’s feelings ‘about Mariah and their split’.
Lyrics include: ‘First off, I’m gonna say I ain’t got nothing but love for ya.
‘Nothing but love/Imma stay away, I ain’t trying to f**k it up for ya /I keep my distance, stay in my lane/ Cause I know you got a man, it’s a little too late.’

Nick and Mariah welcomed twins, Moroccan and Monroe, age 10, in April 2011, their love didn’t last and they split in 2014 with their divorce finalised two years later.
Mariah went on to become engaged to billionaire James Packer, they splitted in October 2016. She is currently dating Brian according to reports.
