The Evolution From Five Years Ago, What’s Is The Difference
When i started in 1997, that was the era where we were doing movies with better camera, stories were not as cool as they’re now, we have received a little bit of training in terms of cinematography so where we are right now, we have had a learning curve between then and now.
The kind of things that i see on Netflix today that we do now, is fantastic. I wish we did this earlier. I believe that the industry would have had more respect than we have now.
When i started out in 1997, it was just the passion, i was not looking for any fame just money but somehow i got pressured out of the industry for nine years because i got a regular job in an Oil company and i couldn’t turn down the offer.
But because of my passion for the business, i had to still keep my presence in the industry and that’s when i took on a new role as an executive producer so i was investing my money into it. I was producer movies once every year.
Is it intentional that you get to pass a massage in your movies?
Yea, every project that i get involve with has some kind of message in it. My first production was ” Dirty Diana”, it address prostitutions. “The prodigal Brother” was a topic that highlighted how young people from Warri with little or no education come to Lagos and make it in the Comedy business.
Every single projects that have done has something that i address as an issue.
