Life coach, Lanre Olusola shared with the ladies of your view the effect of rape on victims’ mental health, and how we can combat rape, abuse and sexual assault in the society of today.
On TVC’s flagship program, Your View, Olusola suggested methods girls can use in protecting themselves from sexual assaulters, he emphasized that the society is now a jungle, and parents need to face the reality of the world we live in today.
According to Olusola, young girls should be introduced to martial art as mechanics for self-defense.
“We live in a jungle, our young girls need to be able to protect themselves. They need to learn martial arts, judo and boxing for self defense!”

Parents are meant to protect their children to a certain extent. According to Lanre, parents have a major role to play in preventing sexual abuse.
“Parents have to talk about this things , they need to talk about sex, rape and assault with their children”, we need to have these difficult conversations.”
“As a parent do not keep quiet for an uncle or an aunty or a pastor, that affects your child’s mental health and they stop feeling safe around you.” , he said.
