Rumours of American rapper, songwriter, and actor, DMX’s death trended on social media on thursday, April 8. Social media reports had it that the Ruff Ryders rapper DMX passed away at the age of 50 after being taken off of life support.
The rapper’s manager Steve Rifkind reacting to the rumour, shared a statement on Instagram saying that the rapper is still alive and on life support.
“Everybody, please stop with posting these rumours,” he said. “DMX is still alive. Yes, he is on life support, but please, it’s not helping anybody by having them see these false rumours. Let the family relax for a night. You will be hearing a statement from the family sometime tomorrow.”
AdvertisementRifkind added; “I’ve been with DMX for the past three years. So, the only thing I ask is just stop with the rumours. He is still alive and he is on life support. Thank you.”
TMZ had reported on April 3, that the 50-year-old rapper had been hospitalized and was in critical condition, following a heart attack that was preceded by an apparent drug overdose. One of DMX’s managers, Nakia Walker told the New York Times on April 4 that DMX was in a “vegetative state.” TMZ in a follow-up report said that a new round of neurological testing had not indicated any improvement in DMX’s condition.
