According to report, the quarantine act of 1926 has remained the only act of national assembly used in dealing
with infectious diseases outbreaks in Nigeria, however, a new bill titled, ‘Control of Infectious Diseases Bill
2020’ sponsored by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and two others
lawmakers seek to empower the Federal Government to convert any property in the country, including
private properties, to isolation centers.
