R&B singer, R. Kelly has been arrested on 13 federal sex crime charges which include child pornography, enticement of a minor and obstruction of justice charges.
The 52-year-old was arrested in Chicago on Thursday Night and is expected to be brought to New York, report says.
US attorney spokesman Joseph Fitzpatrick told New York times that;
“The counts include child porn, enticement of a minor and obstruction of justice,” Fitzpatrick said, adding that further details would be released later Friday.
This is the second time this year that Kelly has been taken into custody in Chicago on sex charges.
The award winning singer whose real name is, Robert Kelly was charged in February with 10 state counts of sexual abuse involving four victims, including three minors. He pleaded not guilty and was released from Chicago’s Cook County Jail after posting bail. More charges were filed against him in May.
Kelly’s lawyer, Steve Greenberg has however confirmed his recent arrest to the Chicago Sun-Times, and Fitzpatrick said Kelly’s arraignment date and time is yet to be fixed.
