Presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo has stated that marriage vows – “For better for worse” which people recite when getting married, is a curse.
According to popular Christian page on Facebook, Church Gist, the clergy man said making vows by saying “for better for worse” is tantamount to calling on curses on one’s head. Oyedepo also revealed that such marriage vows are unscriptural.
The pastor was quoted by saying:
All that “for better for worse, in sickness and in health”, that people recite as marriage vows is unscriptural. It is a curse.”

Whatever you don’t see in the Bible stop confessing it. Jesus Christ attended a wedding and for better for worse was not written or pronounced then. Bishop is right on this.

We already know that there are trying times but should we go ahead to confess them on the alter of marriages NO! But rather we confess the blessings coz the power of life & death lies in the tongue..
I think that’s where the Bishop is trying to draw his inferences from..

That is absolute truth, how can you agree for worse situation? Did God created adam and eve to face the worse certailny not, so where did that worse come from, it is a dangerous con fession and its not from God, course what scripture say is let the weak say I am strong and let the poor say I am rich, why will God then include worse two lovers when He is love, that worse is a satanic quote not from God believers must stop saying it in the union of love.

It is quite unfortunate this is coming from a respected man of God in our society. Has he forgotten that the difficult time in marriage is the worse time? I don’t know the type of Bible they are reading in living faith church. So everything will be rosy from day one till the end in marriage even some trying times in marriage might come.from God to test our loyalty to God the originator and creator of marriage.

In my opinion I think what the man is saying is that when you say for worse, you are simply calling on bad things to be a part of your life. It’s best we confess success and good health. When you say I love you, it’s unconditional. In sickness and health
