Well, a lot had happened before the family was blessed and it was a though one for the comedian.
In a recent interview, Teju revealed that it was a bit more of a serious issue because his father had to wait for 10 years before he had children.
He said; One of my uncles called me sometime ago, he said – ‘you must do something about this thing.’
Speaking further, Teju translated what his uncle said in Yoruba language:
“Three generations in the family shouldn’t suffer the same thing.” Referring to the fact that his father had to wait for 10 years to have children.

“Married without children for 1,2,3,4,5 years was beginning to seem to me that whatever it was that was happening in the family had TRANSFERRED itself and passed down to me. So it was a bit WORRISOME for me.
“I had to get serious with my creator – God at some point and say look, let’s trash issues out, because there’s a part of the bible that says; the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, lest the righteous deep his hand into iniquity.
