Veteran South African Hip-hop star, Jabulani Tsambo, popularly known as Hip Hop Pantsula (HHP) has been confirmed dead.
The 38-year-old rapper was said to have died on Wednesday afternoon, Daily Sun reports.
However, the cause of his death is yet to be disclosed. It was gathered that the rapper had previously spoken out about his battle with depression leading to multiple suicide attempts.
His death was confirmed in a statement made available to newsmen by his wife and popular publicist, Lerato Sengadi.
“Yes, yes it’s true, HHP has passed away and I am very much traumatised.
“I am with the family at the moment. She said.”

HHP whose real name is Jabulani Tsambo according to reports had opened up in the past about his struggles with depression. According to TimesLive, another media outlet SowetanLive reported back in 2015 that HHP had attempted to commit suicide on several occasions.
Messages have however started pouring out from his colleagues including AKA and Da L.E.S who have both eulogised the late award-winning rapper on their Twitter pages.

HHP was 38 and had a number of awards to his shelf which includes; South African Music Award for Male Artist of the Year, MTV Africa Music Award for Video of the Year in 2009.
