RED CARD: Ronaldo in tears after being sent off in Champions League debut

Cristiano Ronaldo was sent off after the referee handed him a red card on his Champions League debut for new side, Juventus.

The Portuguese who singed Juventus from Real Madrid, for a whooping sum of £105million was dismissed just 28 minutes into the game.

Ronaldo appeared to knock Jeison Murillo to the ground off the ball and was shown a straight red card by the referee.

Ronaldo tried to prove his innocence, which later led to tears.

His dismissal will almost certainly see him miss Juventus’ next Champions League tie against Young Boys Bern, while he is likely to also be suspended for what would no doubt have been a return to Old Trafford against former club Manchester United as well as a home tie against Jose Mourinho’s side.

Despite his dismisal, Juventus still took the lead with a penalty shoot out taken by Miralem Pjanic
