Tanzania Football Federation have announced the appointment of former Nigerian winger, Emmanuel Amuneke as the new head coach of Tanzania.
The 47-year-old signed a two-year deal to take over from former coach, Salum Mayanga who according to reports from Goal, was shown the way out due to poor performance.
Amuneke penned a two-year contract with the TFF on Monday and his immediate task will be to help the Taifa Stars qualify for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.
Amuneke will make his debut when Tanzania face Uganda in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash on September 7th, 2018.
“I’m ready for this big task. Tanzania is not one of the top footballing nation in Africa but I hope to transform the Taifa Stars to a good team,”
Amuneke told CSN prior to his unveiling on Monday.
