American singer, Ciara who recently collaborated with Nigerian producer/singer Tekno seems to be embracing the Nigerian culture.
The singer who recently released the hot joint, “Freak Me” featuring Tekno, revealed that her inspiration was from the Nigerian Diva, Tiwa Savage but not after she was bashed for copy and paste.
Ciara seems to be doing more with the Nigerian culture as she is seen in a new video rocking the tracksuit made by Nike for Nigeria’s National football team – Super Eagles.

Is she trying to please Nigerians who bashed her?
On the release of the song, fans immediately noticed that song sounded much like Tiwa Savage’s 2015 song, “Before Nko” featuring D’Prince.
In response, Ciara quickly took to Twitter to clarify Tiwa Savage’s involvement on the track.
“Shoutout to Tiwa Savage on the inspiration and sample used in #FreakMe!” she wrote. “She’s a beast! I fell in love with the melody when I first heard it in Africa 3 years ago.”
Shout out to @TiwaSavage on the inspiration and sample used in #FreakMe! She’s a beast! I fell in love with the melody when I first heard it in Africa 3 years ago ❤️💃🏽. So good. #AfroWave

However, not everyone accepted Ciara’s explanation, many called the singer out for “copy and paste”
"Inspiration" from "Africa" smh…. the song is literally the same and the country is Nigeria.
