The Super Eagles coach,Gernot Rohr in a bid to avoid any distractions in the camp of the Senior national team at the FIFA World cup taking place in Russia has stated that ladies of easy virtues (prostitutes) or any female who has no direct link with the national team players would not be given access to the Eagles’ camp.
Super Eagles media officer, Toyin Ibitoye in a statement released on Monday said “We know there are cute girls in Russia who will be all over the place to be around our players but they won’t get close because there will be strict resistance.Concentration is crucial at the World Cup and the coach is taking this seriously”. He also added that the players were aware of the development.
However wives and girlfriends of the players will be allowed to see the players but not allowed to stay with them.
A close source added that “They can only come after match days when the players are relaxed. The training after match will be light and before the start of strategic work for the next game, that is the time WAGs will be allowed. They can only visit and won’t be allowed to stay with the team”.
Rohr is also currently finalizing the provisional list of the team for the mundial which is expected not to be more than 35. However, only 23 will make the final list to the World Cup.
The team will play three more international friendlies before the World Cup.The Super Eagles will compete in Group D with Croatia, Iceland and Argentina at the World Cup. The forthcoming event in Russia will be Nigeria’s “fifth appearance at the World Cup”.
