There have been comparisons between the self-proclaimed Queen of Rap, Nicki Minaj and her rival, Cardi B who were rumoured to be feuding last year after both featured on Migos hit song – MotorSport.
A part of Nicki’s verse on the MotorSport, Nicki said in her rap:
If Cardi B the QB/ I’m Nick Lombardi,” which many perceived to be a diss aimed at the current rap princess.

Addressing the beef rumours in a new interview on Apple Music’s Beats 1 radio, Nicki Minaj said;
“When I first came in the game, if a female of [my] stature had done a feature with me on it, I would only be singing their praises and saying thank you,”
“The first interview [Cardi] did after MotorSport came out, it just really hurt me because she looked so aggravated and angry. She just kept saying she didn’t hear it…. I was like, What?”

Minaj explained that a scheduling conflict that prevented her from shooting the video with Migos and Cardi B inflamed the rumors. Minaj suggested the others didn’t do anything to back her up. “When it was time to clear the air about that, no one did that,” she said. “All of them allowed me to look like I lied.”
Cardi had said in her sit down with Capital XTRA in London last year that she never heard the full verse of Nicki’s until the song dropped.
Cardi said:
“Well, when I heard the track, her verse wasn’t finished. Or it’s not the verse that’s [on there] right now. And Quavo [member of Migos] told me that to get on the song, and I just felt like it’s a perfect opportunity for me to be on a track that’s big like them.
“Cause those are two big people, and I just started in the game. And I just know if I get on this record, it’s gonna be crazy. Like who doesn’t want it?”
Nicki said in her Thursday interview that she is not beefing with Cardi, she just felt let down.
‘That really, really hurt me because I really fully supported [Cardi]. And up until this recent interview she did [with Ebro Darden for Beats 1], I had never seen her show me genuine love in an interview.’
‘And I can only imagine how many girls wished they could’ve been on a song with Nicki Minaj. I’m not saying it in a cocky way… I’m saying it, like, the first thing out of your mouth when somebody asks you about a Nicki Minaj feaure is, “she changed her verse.” Excuse me?’

Though Nicki was hurt, she has however shown support for Cardi B and wishes her well:
‘I do want to say shoutout to Cardi and all the new female rappers who’ve been doing their thing.’
‘With Cardi B, she’s done exactly what she should have done. She’s just gone full steam ahead. And, you know, congratulations to her.’
