Nollywood actor Kenneth Okonkwo has declared his intention to run for Enugu governorship election under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The Sun reports that Okonkwo declared his candidacy over the weekend during the expanded stakeholders meeting of the APC, Enugu state Chapter.
According to him the current governor of the state, Governor Ifeanyi Uwuanyi has done nothing tangible since he has been in office.
Sharing photos on his Instagram page, he wrote: “Just declared my intention to contest for the Governorship candidate of APC in Enugu State. It was heart warming to receive the blessings of the immediate past Governor of Enugu State,His Excellency, Gov Sullivan Chime. To God be the glory.”

This is not the first time a Nollywood actor would be delving into politics. Yul Edochie ran for the governorship position in Anambra state, but didn’t win the election. How will things play out for Kenneth? Maybe better!
