Q: You just talked about rappers should fix up their lives, why?
MI: why? I felt like at the time rap music in Nigeria was just ermm…..There was no vibrancy , people weren’t putting out exceptional products, people were just going with the status quo, and what I was saying to the young guys was like’ look, who are you waiting for? Nobody is going to come and help you guys. I loved the fact that they responded and the way they did.
Q: Based on the feedback you got, was there any regrets whatsoever?

MI: Regrets?! The reason i did so is because i support young rappers, i wanted them to get their opportunities. A lot of people I didn’t even know about until the rappers fix up their lives. We knew exactly what was going to happen and we were happy that it happened the way it did.

The now Chocolate city CEO, released his fourth studio album, Rendezvous on the 9th of February, 2018 which got fans excited. He worked with a whole lot of young artistes who brought in their A game. MI also worked with south African A list artistes, AKA and Casper Nyovest on different tracks and it’s total package of Hip Hop. Get the album (here)
Retirement
MI had spoken about retirement in his “Rappers Should Fix Up Their Lives” track. “I should be close to retiring” he said in his lines.
MI was asked:We keep hearing rumours about you retiring and then you just come boom! dropped the album ‘Rendezvous’. Whats going on?
MI: You know, I don’t know why, Since i started rap music, I’ve been like, this idea of like, you have to know when the end is coming. Thinking about leaving keeps me in line with knowing that this is not forever. I need to plan for the next step, I need to develop other
skills. One of the biggest fallacies in the music business is; you’re going to popular and make all the money. The money you make, no matter how much it is, you need to develop yourself so you can continuously make money overtime.
MI also revealed in the interview that his closest regret was the friendship and brotherhood he lost with Ice Prince and Jezze Jagz.
I have no regret thankfully, but the closest thing to regret is that, sometimes I look back fondly on relationships and friendship I had, People you came up with, people who were like your brothers before, you see those relationships are torn apart. I don’t think I have seen Ice Prince up to four times this year, the fact that we are both so busy, we hardly get to see each other because we are both busy and doing well.
